Step into clinical practice with intensive hands-on simulation training
The Medical School of Université Paris Cité (UPCité) presents an immersive 2-week long summer program entirely in English designed to build core clinical skills through simulation-based learning and bedside teaching. Learn the principles of physical examination and emergency procedures across specialties, in a small-group and high-impact environment.

This summer school is led by organ-specific clinical experts and includes supervised bedside training in university hospital wards, offering participants direct patient contact to consolidate knowledge in real-world settings, as well as simulation-based training.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Module 1 : Foundations of Clinical Medicine
Develop core skills in physical examination and clinical reasoning across multiple specialties including cardiology, gastroenterology, urology, gynecology and pediatrics. Practice essential procedures such as suturing, casting, lumbar puncture, intubation and more. Hands-on workshops are complemented by supervised academic hospital placements in small groups during two half days, in one of the teaching hospitals of Université Paris Cité Medical School network.Module 2 : Emergency Care Procedures
Gain experience in managing urgent scenarios such as hemorrhage control, unexpected deliveries, cardiac arrest, and airway obstruction. Simulation-based training will prepare participants to respond effectively in critical situations. This module also includes certified training in Basic Life Support (BLS), allowing participants to obtain the official BLS certification designed for healthcare professionals (AFGSU – level 2*) upon successful completion. Students will learn to Identify and manage life-threatening emergencies, alone and as part of a team, as well as identify, alert and help implement protective measures in the face of collective risks.Information, AFGSU - level 2: The AFGSU 2 diploma (Level 2 Certificate in Emergency First Aid Training) is intended for healthcare professionals and healthcare students. Information, iLumens Simulation Center: iLumens is an acronym which refers to a multidisplinary university medical laboratory focused on digital health education. iLumens targets initial, specialised, continuing medical and paramedical training courses. Through the latest educational and technological innovations, iLumens brings to the training classes a variety of methods to future health professionals such as serious games, practicing on high-fidelity models and standardised patients. Simulation based learning methods provides a unique opportunity to revisit practices and teaching practices, and to rethink patient-caregiver relationships and even amongst the caregivers. ELIGIBILITY
This program is designed for students in medicine or related sciences with an interest in health professions seeking to strengthen their clinical examination skills and gain practical experience in a dynamic, interactive learning setting.
AGE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Participants must be at least 18 years old by July 6, 2026.
The Summer School is taught in English.
The Summer School is open to students with a secondary school diploma ; students enrolled in an institution of higher education ; university graduates.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
A joint first day with Artificial intelligence and digital innovation in medicine Summer School participants will be organized with high-level talks and interactive events.
A full social event program will be proposed, with cultural visits, weekend outings and tips to enjoy France Bastille day celebrations (July 14th), a bank holiday in France.
ACCOMODATION
Accommodation is not included, but discounted-rate options will be offered to participants before their arrival, on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Summer School is unable to offer any scholarships. Prospective participants are encouraged to check with their home universities and local embassies for potential funding opportunities.
VISA AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Depending on your nationality, a visa may be required to take part in this program. We recommend that you consult the relevant visa and passport requirements for entry into France (https://france-visas.gouv.fr/en/your-arrival-in-france).
An invitation letter for the selected students (for visa procedures) will be provided.
HEALTH & TRAVEL INSURANCE
Participants are responsible for obtaining valid personal health insurance for the entire duration of the program. In addition, coverage for repatriation and civil liability is strongly recommended.
